Introduction

Sustainable Environment Research (Sustain. Environ. Res., SER) is an international and interdisciplinary journal known as the leading journal in the sustainable environment field in Taiwan. SER publishes six times a year in the electronic edition. Its production is under the charge of Sustainable Environment Research Laboratories (SERL), National Cheng Kung University. SER acts as a forum to encourage and enhance discussion among researchers and practitioners in sustainable environment professions. All articles in the journal are indexed in the Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, Chemical Abstracts Service, EBSCO, Google Scholar, INSPEC and Scopus.

History

SER is a continuing publication of the Journal of the Chinese Institute of Environmental Engineering (J. Chin. Inst. Environ. Eng., JCIEE) and the Journal of Environmental Engineering and Management (J. Environ. Eng. Manage., JEEAM).

The JCIEE began its first issue in April 1991 and continued to Vol. 16, No. 3 in May 2006. Noting the importance of environmental management, we changed the title of JCIEE as JEEAM as beginning with Vol. 16, No. 4 in July 2006. The JEEAM continued to Vol. 20, No. 3 in May 2010. However, in order to match the appeal of sustainability of environment, we rename the title of the journal as SER starting from Vol. 20, No. 4 in July 2010.

Aims and Scope

The primary goal of SER is to publish high quality research articles associated with sustainable environmental science and technology and to contribute to improving environmental practice. The scope of SER includes issues of environmental science, technology, management and related fields, especially in response to sustainable water, energy and other natural resources. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
